Give your smile a new dimension with our latest systems in tooth whitening- Zoom whitening!
Tooth Bleaching, is a common procedure in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure, and the enamel becomes less porous. Bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco can also stain teeth. Certain antibiotic medications can also cause teeth stains or a reduction in the brilliance of the enamel. Zoom whitening or laser activated whitening uses metal halide/laser light to accelerate the process of bleaching in a single sitting.
You can go few shades lighter in a matter of minutes!!!
For those who prefer, our dentists can also provide custom-made whitening trays as part of a take home, teeth-whitening kit. These provide a good effective booster to the bleaching cycle.
Tooth whitening is a process which lightens discolouration of enamel and dentine. At Opus Dental specilaities, we use the revolutionary Zoom Advance tooth whitening system, which brightens the teeth by multiple shades in a matter of minutes and that too chairside.
Almost everyone who would like to have a brighter and whiter smile!
Tooth whitening is not permanent. People who expose their teeth to staining foods and beverages can see the whiteness fade away faster. However a repeated enhancement helps maintain the whiteness.
Studies of teeth whitening products using Carbamide Peroxide or Hydrogen Peroxide show little to no effect on the hardness or mineral content of a tooth's enamel surface. The surface effect that these chemicals produce is reversed by fluoride in the saliva & regular toothpastes & mouth rinses.
Home Bleaching systems involve dispensing a gel within a prefabricated tray and wearing the same for stipulated time. These are lower in concentration as it is used either overnight or during the day by the patient.
Zoom Bleach or Laser bleach is done at the clinic by application of a concentrated gel onto the teeth & exposing the same to Laser or a metal halide light for release of nascent oxygen for the desired effect. The procedure is completed within 15 minutes to 1 hour.
Minor sensitivity may be experienced by the patient during the course of the procedure and sometimes, may persists for about 24 to 48 hrs after the procedure. This eventually settles down.
The cost will vary according to the number of Bleach cycles that the patient will require depending on the discoloration present.
